Company Background

Established in 1993, DCS Limited (Data Communications Specialists) began with the goal to specialise in the manufacturing and distribution of high quality computer/data cables, and to offer a full range of products for the data and telephone communications cabling industry. Within 18 months DCS acquired an OEM electronics company (Dryad Corporation), and from that time we became DCS Dryad Limited.

On 31^st March 2004 DCS Dryad Limited acquired DataWorld (Ch-Ch) Limited. From 1^st April DCS Dryad will operate branches in Christchurch and Wellington

Wellington Head Office for the group is DCS Dryad Limited, responsible for the administration and logistics of both companies

Both DCS Dryad in Wellington, and DataWorld in Christchurch, have specialised in the best quality, support and service in our industry. The new company will be structured to meet the ongoing demands and needs of all our customers so that we can continue this reputation, throughout New Zealand as well as Internationally.

Where To Find Us - We Have Moved ! If you're coming to Wellington and you wish to visit us, here's how to find us! The route we recommend that you take, should you be travelling on State Highway 1 or 2, is to follow the motorway into the city to Vivian Street (the route to the airport). From here, take the 7th left into Cambridge Terrace, carry on until you reach Alpha Street on the left before Coutenay Place. However, if you're flying into the city, and choose not to take a taxi, you should follow the road signs to the city, which will direct you through the Mt. Victoria tunnel and, once again, directly to the Basin and its encircling, one-way road. Follow the road around the Basin Reserve to Cambridge Terrace. carry on until you reach Alpha Street on the left before Coutenay Place.

Quality Assurance
Our quality assurance begins with the purchasing of high quality raw cable and connectors only from top manufacturers, including BICC General, Belden Wire & Cable. Our manufacturing stages are strictly monitored, and DCS Dataworld employs its pneumatic and electromechanical crimpers wherever possible in the fabrication process to ensure high quality connections and total compatibility of all components used. All cable assemblies fabricated at our Central Wellington location are subject to strict electrical, mechanical, and finished product quality tests prior to dispatch.

DCS Dataworld offers Sub 60 courier delivery within greater Wellington and overnight delivery anywhere within New Zealand upon completion of orders.

Service and support is fast becoming the differentiating factor between one supplier and the next. A cheap price can become a costly business decision when there are lengthy delays in fulfilment of orders, or if there is poor after-sales support, all of which leads to increased down time, poor delivery of projects, cost overruns, and lost productivity that costs businesses and their clients money. DCS Dataworld are able to provide competitive prices for the products and services on offer, as well as the service and support that our customers demand.

Service

For supply of raw cable and connectors, patchleads, pre assembled cables and related consumable items, orders can be dispatched directly from our warehouse stocks or alternatively can be collected from our Central Wellington location by the Basin Reserve. For delivery outside of Wellington orders are couriered door to door overnight. For the supply of made to order cable assemblies, orders are prepared for shipment in 48hrs (or less), and then can be collected from our Wellington warehouse or shipped overnight. Turn around times are based on standard components on standard cable, cable assemblies on non-standard cable or assemblies using non- standard/proprietary connectors will have turn around times based on availability of components within NZ, also for large orders, turn around may be extended due to manufacturing time constraints.
